World Hypertension Day
Since 2005, the World Hypertension Day has been celebrated every year on 17th May, with the aim of raising community awareness about hypertension and encouraging citizens around the globe to combat and prevent this condition. The prevalence of hypertension is highest in Africa while the lowest prevalence is found in the America.
Objectives of World Hypertension Day
- Raising public awareness of early detection and treatment of high blood pressure.
- Support research to achieve optimal care of people with hypertension.
- Educate and facilitate networking regarding hypertension globally between investigators, teachers, clinicians and students.
