International Childhood Cancer Day
International Childhood cancer day is observed on the 15th of February every year. This day aims to increase the depth of understanding challenges and issues related to childhood cancer which impact children and adolescents with cancer as well as survivors, their families and societies. There are 12 types of juvenile cancers. Leukemia and brain cancers are among the most common childhood cancers.
Objectives of International Childhood Cancer Day
- Raising the level of awareness for childhood cancer, improving access to medical care and treatment of cancer.
- Increasing access to essential cancer drugs at affordable prices and free of charge, including pain relievers.
- Expressing support for adolescents and children with cancer, survivors and their families.
