World First Aid Day

World First Aid Day is recognised on the second Saturday of every September .The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) introduced World First Aid Day in 2000. First Aid includes initial action in a serious condition before professional medical help is available, such as performing CPR while awaiting an ambulance, as well as the complete treatment of minor injuries, such as applying a plaster to a cut.

Objectives of World First Aid Day

  • Organising events and ceremonies to raise public awareness on how first aid can save lives.
  • Hosting event and educating the public, especially students on how to give first aid and CPR.
